Shayne Ferrara and Mark Hendrickson first started pursuing championships and winning at the ripe age of 9 years old.  They were teammates on the Abbot Lumber little league team in Hull, MA.

After teaming up on the baseball diamind and successful championship runs, Shayne and Marks friendship continued, in high school sitting at the same lunch table, same group of friends.

After high school Shayne went on to Stonehill College and Mark attended Wentworth.  Shayne worked summers in roofing for his uncle Joe and decided to forego his later years at Stonehill and pursue a roofing company of his own in 1999, when Ferrara Roofing & Contracting began.

Mark completed his bachelors of science at Wentworth with a degree in Construction Management in 2000.

During this time, Mark and Shayne continued playing cards with friends, annual trips to Foxwoods, as well as good healthy tennis competition when time allowed.

Mark has 3 children, a 2nd year at University of Connecticut, a sophmore at Hanover high school, and a wife of 21 years.  Shayne has 3 children, all attending Hingham schools, and a wife of 15 years.

In the winter of 2015, it was a historic one for ice dams in the roofing industry.  Insurance claims became frequent and Shayne could not keep up with the paperwork it entailed.  After a tennis match where Shayne could not concentrate, and had his phone leaned up against the net post, Mark and Shayne came up with the idea of teaming up as contractors.

Perfect fit from the start.  Shayne was naturally a field / site guy and Mark had managed projects up to $20,000,000 in value including work in high profile areas like the Boston Convention Center, Agawam Veterans Cemetery, and numerous projects for the DCR, so the paperwork came easy.

In the winter of 2016, they started Ocean Management Company offering marine and general construction. Mark had engineering/architect contacts, and Shayne had a number of real estate clients that kept Ocean Management consistently busy.  Work included pile repairs, underside dock repairs, rip rap revetments, all in tidal zones.  Ocean Management has completed over $5,000,000 in contracts since its inception including a half mile of ornamental railing at the Fisherman’s Memorial in Gloucester, and most recently a shade shelter for the Community Boating Facility along the Charles River in Boston.
In the winter of 2017, Shayne and Mark agreed to terms to purchase Tempco Roofing out of South Boston. In November of 2020 it was paid off, and has seen active growth since.

In 2017/2018, Shayne and Mark decided to start investing in rental investment properties, and to date have 5 shared properties in what they call the “Hammer Trust”.  Three of the properties are located in Rockland, one in Plymouth, and one in Brockton, all have remained fully occupied to date.

In a little over 8 years, Shayne and Mark have completed close to $30,000,000 in construction projects, own over 20 vehicles, 4 large pieces of equipment, over $300,000 in tools, and $3,500,000 in shared real estate.
